Many people won’t bother, but for the leaderboard obsessed and the trophy completionist, they represent good value. Like every other inFAMOUS game, the side-tasks are tedious, the missions get a little repetitive, and there’s a bit of padding in the form of enclosed battle-arenas that are annoyingly mandatory, and amusingly revisitable. Recent years have seen the rise of "standalone DLC expansions" that are bigger than a traditional DLC offering, but smaller than a full-fledged sequel. It's unclear why Sony and developer Insomniac wouldn't emphasize the visual upgrades made to the original Spider-Man game, thus stressing the power of the PlayStation 5 over its predecessor.

In the eyes of many, it was the first superhero video game to live up to the benchmark set by Batman: Arkham Asylum way back in 2009.įans have spent the last two years eagerly awaiting a sequel, and it seemed their wish would be granted on PlayStation 5, with the announcement of Spider-Man: Miles Morales coming to Sony's next-gen console in late 2020.
